Vintage Chunky Silver Trombone Link Toggle Chain (19")
Vintage Chunky Silver Trombone Link Toggle Chain (19")
This chain hits basically every single thing I want from a big silver necklace.
First of all, it is chunky, architectural and properly substantial. The whole chain is built from these gorgeous trombone-style links, each one subtly kinked through the centre so they have this extra bit of movement and structure. It takes what could have been quite a classic link and makes the whole thing feel much more sculptural.
There is something about the way it sits around the neck that gives me almost an Albert-chain feeling. Not because it actually is one, but because the rhythm of those elongated links and connecting rings has that same lovely old-fashioned, engineered quality.
And then at the front you have the toggle clasp, which completely changes the energy.
I will die on the hill that toggle clasps are a dream. They are easy to put on, easy to take off and beautifully secure once they are fastened. There is no spring, no fiddly mechanism and basically nothing there to wear out, so it is one of those wonderfully simple pieces of jewellery engineering that just keeps working forever.
It also gives you options. Wear the toggle at the back if you want a clean, uninterrupted chain, or bring it round to the front and make it part of the look. It has that slightly Y2K, retro, playful feel that looks SO good against the more serious architectural construction of the links.
The whole piece is entirely solid, with proper weight and density to it. Nothing flimsy, nothing pretending to be chunky. Just a big, beautifully made silver chain that feels every bit as good in the hand as it looks on the neck.

Please note
Please note
The expectation with antique and vintage jewellery is that there will be normal signs of wear commensurate with age eg. scuffs and patina. Lovers of antique and vintage jewellery usually value these things for giving their piece history and character.
I make every effort to clearly list any defects above usual wear, and to take clear photos that represent the item clearly.
The photos constitute part of the description and we ask you view them carefully before purchasing.

Instalment Payment Info
We offer a traditional layaway system – not a buy-now-pay-later setup like Klarna. You pay a 30% deposit now, then two more payments over 60 days. Your piece is safely reserved, and we’ll post it out once all payments are complete.
At Trash Lobster, we think this is a more ethical way to offer flexibility – no credit checks, no predatory lenders, just time to pay at your own pace.
Want to pay it off early? Just give us a shout and we’ll sort it.
