Each link is a small feat of engineering, those characteristic interlocking passes and folds that give Byzantine its almost architectural quality, and this version is wider and flatter than the round Byzantine you usually see, which means it sits against the chest like a piece of armour rather than hanging away from the body. The effect on the neck is seriously impressive. It moves as one piece, fluid and weighty, and catches the light at every link.
