What do I want in a ring? A big, thick hunk of gold, something that can be worn to death, chunky, weighty, and solid. No hollowing out, I want it to be a thrill to fiddle with. And if it has a nice big diamond? I’m not complaining. This ring is a proper hunky monkey – the bomb shape is so satisfying, with a nice high profile and a wide, sloping shank. And that stone – a brilliant-cut diamond, around 0.25 carats – she's looking pretty hot. It’s nice to find one in 9ct gold. Big ones like this tend to be 18ct, which is lovely but softer, so scratches more easily. This beauty? Just as pretty, harder-wearing, and more affordable.
