I could stare at a Byzantine chain for an unreasonable amount of time.
There is something so satisfying about trying to work out exactly how all those little links interlock, and this one is particularly good because it has an enormous amount going on in quite a compact form.
The construction is dense and intricate, but the individual wire links are relatively fine, which gives the chain this almost high-resolution quality. There is so much texture packed into a slimmer profile than you’d normally expect from a Byzantine.
It isn’t dainty at all, but it isn’t aggressively chunky either. Very Goldilocks.
It has loads of presence, lots of movement and shine, and adds instant texture and dimension to a silver stack without completely taking over.
If you like a classic silver chain but want something a little less obvious than a curb or belcher, this is such a good one. Interesting, intricate and extremely wearable.
