The Most Charming Victorian Snake & Diamond Drop Pendant

Victorian snakes are one of those motifs that simply never stop being super desirable, and this little guy is exactly why. He has SO much personality, I kinda want him to be my mate. Rather than feeling overly formal or symbolic, he is wonderfully tactile and characterful, coiled tightly around the top of the pendant with his teeeennnnnyy cutesy head peeking out like he knows he is the star of the show.

The elongated shape is also such a clever one for stacking. Most pendants give you a fairly compact round, oval or square silhouette, whereas this drops vertically and creates a completely different line on the neck. It adds length, movement and a bit of visual disruption to a stack, which is exactly what makes layered jewellery look interesting rather than just busy.

Then, right at the bottom, you get that gorgeous little cluster of three diamonds. Just enough sparkle to catch the light, without competing with the snake or making the piece feel fussy. I love the contrast between the simple gold bar, the sculptural snake and that bright little flash of diamonds at the end.
