Antique Puffy Mariner Long Guard with Dog Clip (46.5")

This is one of those chains that makes me kinda wanna wet my pants in excitement for whoever grabs her. Sorry? Not sorry. 

An absolutely extraordinary antique silver long guard chain, made in one of my all-time favourite and most highly sought-after links: puffy mariner chain.

Every individual link has that gorgeous rounded, almost inflated profile, but despite the name, these are completely solid links. The result is a chain that looks beautifully soft and pillowy while still feeling properly weighty and substantial in the hand. It has an incredible presence, and the aged silver gives it exactly the sort of atmospheric finish you want from a piece with this much history behind it.

And then there’s the length. At just over 46 inches, it is basically perfect.

Long enough to play with, layer, loop and style in different ways, but not so enormously long that it becomes cumbersome. Worn doubled, it creates the most incredible ready-made stack around the neck: two layers of chunky antique silver with all that texture and history, without you having to do anything clever whatsoever.

It’s finished with an original dog clip, so you can also add a pendant, charm, locket or whatever else you fancy and completely change the look.

I have genuinely never had a chain quite like this before. The combination of the mariner link, the solid construction, the weight, the length and the dog clip is just exceptional.
