This antique 9ct gold panther-link gate bracelet has the most magnificent profile in a wrist stack. Broad, weighty and satisfyingly substantial, it is a beautiful piece of golden infrastructure on your wrist.

Its construction is extraordinary. Row upon row of perfectly even little links have been meticulously made and cleverly interlocked, creating a bracelet with incredible density while preserving that wonderful, fluid slink. It is almost impossible to imagine somebody assembling something this precise by hand, a century or more ago, quite possibly under candlelight.

The bracelet is effectively reversible. One side is plain, showing off the smooth, softly rounded, almost pebble-like links and the way they move together. Turn it over and sections of textured links create a subtle geometric pattern, giving you a slightly more decorative look.

It fastens with its original antique heart padlock. I am forever raving about heart padlocks as bracelet clasps because they are among the easiest to fasten by yourself: you can scoop up the end ring and catch it securely without needing three hands. The heart also adds a lovely little textural moment within a stack.
