Antique Gilt Snake Chain (16")
Antique Gilt Snake Chain (16")
As you know, I mostly deal in solid gold and silver, but every now and then something slithers into view that’s just too special to ignore. This antique snake chain was one of those pieces — full of historical charm and guaranteed to bring serious impact to someone’s stack.
The detail on the snake’s head (which cleverly doubles as the integrated clasp) is gorgeous, with a nod to the ancient symbolism of the ouroboros and a very satisfying flick of the tail emerging from its mouth.
If this were solid gold, you'd be looking at a price tag north of £2,000 — so finding this beauty at such an accessible price is a proper thrill. She’s got great weight, fantastic presence, and with a little care, she’ll easily see many more decades of wear. I’ve got a few gilt pieces in my personal collection; I look after them, re-plate them when needed (it’s not expensive!), and make sure these pieces of history keep shining for years to come.

Please note
Please note
The expectation with antique and vintage jewellery is that there will be normal signs of wear commensurate with age eg. scuffs and patina. Lovers of antique and vintage jewellery usually value these things for giving their piece history and character.
I make every effort to clearly list any defects above usual wear, and to take clear photos that represent the item clearly.
The photos constitute part of the description and we ask you view them carefully before purchasing.

Instalment Payment Info
We offer a traditional layaway system – not a buy-now-pay-later setup like Klarna. You pay a 30% deposit now, then two more payments over 60 days. Your piece is safely reserved, and we’ll post it out once all payments are complete.
At Trash Lobster, we think this is a more ethical way to offer flexibility – no credit checks, no predatory lenders, just time to pay at your own pace.
Want to pay it off early? Just give us a shout and we’ll sort it.
