An absolutely gorgeous antique spinner fob, one of the best I’ve ever seen. Rather than round, this one is oval, and the proportions are perfect. The balance between length and width gives it a sculptural elegance that feels deliberate and satisfying. One side holds a deep sheet of bloodstone, the other a smooth slice of sardonyx, an unusual pairing and a real treat to find together. The gold setting curves in all the right places, plump and fluid, with a beautiful knotted ribbon detail at the top where it meets the bail. It has been triple checked and XRF tested as solid nine carat gold. There are tiny scuffs here and there, just enough to show its age, but otherwise it is rich, juicy, and immaculate. Chunky in feel though small in footprint, it is tactile, weighty, and absolutely delicious.
