I was so happy when I found the long guard this came from. It was an antique 15ct gold long guard with the most beautiful delicate trombone link, and I knew immediately it was going to make a few absolutely incredible wearable chains.

This is a particularly lovely variation of the trombone, with each long link joined by a single cable link. Antique trombone chains are already increasingly hard to find, and this slightly finer, more unusual configuration is rarer again.

The 15ct gold is just gorgeous. Very buttery, very soft, very glowy, with none of that brassy or overly yellow look. It has that proper antique gold warmth that works beautifully worn alone or mixed into a stack.

I’ve paired it with a 9ct lobster clasp, simply because it was the prettiest clasp and the best colour match. The clasp is lovely enough to wear at the front with a charm attached, but the gauge of the chain also means you can hang charms directly from the links if you prefer a more classic necklace setup.

This is spenny because, well, you know the drill. Antique 15ct, rare link, beautiful condition, amazing colour. A lot packed into a very elegant form factor.
