A brilliant 1942 signet ring that sits right on the cusp between vintage and antique in feel.
Although technically vintage, pieces made during the war often have far more in common with pre-war and antique jewellery than what came after. You can really see that here in the proportions and the way it sits on the finger. It has a great, wearable profile, solid and hefty without being bulky, which makes it a fantastic everyday signet at a very accessible price point.
The face has that cool, squared-off shape that feels surprisingly modern, giving it a slightly newer edge despite its age. The gold is incredibly yellow for a piece of this era, which suggests it’s likely flashed in a higher-carat gold, adding to that rich colour without pushing it into a higher price bracket.
